Sang-Wook Lee grew up and was educated in South Korea where he received both a BFA and an MFA from Dong-A University in Busan. Subsequently, he came to the US and earned an MFA from University of Georgia in textiles. Prof. Lee has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the U.S. and Asia. He recently had the exhibition, 鈥淣oodle Noodle鈥 at Emory University, Atlanta, GA, 鈥淩amen Noodle 2008鈥 at MOCA, Jacksonville, FL, 鈥19620鈥 at The Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia, Atlanta, GA, and invitational group show 鈥淧ojagi-2007 Cheongju International Craft Biennale鈥 at Cheongju Craft Museum, Cheongju City, South Korea. His work was reviewed in 鈥淭he art of noodling around with a food staple鈥 by Catherine Fox, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 鈥淎mazing Noodle Art!鈥 by Vickie Whitlock, CNN, 鈥淩amen Noodle 2008鈥 by Rami Kim, The Korea Daily, and 鈥淩amen: Cheap Food or High Art?鈥 by Frances Allitt, The Emory Wheel. These instant noodles (which he has loved to eat since childhood) installation works are a symbol of his Korean popular culture within cross-cultural expression.
