Areas of Expertise: Painting & Drawing

Boryana Rusenova-Ina鈥檚 work reflects on the entanglements of place and belonging in relationship to language, nationhood, and the landscape genre. Boryana earned an M.A. in Art, Design and Architecture Education from the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland (2009) and an M.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from The Ohio State University (2016). While living in Scotland, she was a visiting artist through the GOALS Project, a nationwide initiative, which focused on bringing artists into Scottish classrooms. Her work has been exhibited across Bulgaria at venues like City Gallery Plovdiv and Credo Bonum Gallery's new platform 鈥淵oung Artists to Watch鈥 curated by Bulgarian art critic Vesela Nozhorava. Recent exhibitions in the U.S. include the 2021 Amarillo Biennial at the Amarillo Museum of Art (TX), the Northern Illinois University Art Museum (IL), Stockton University Art Gallery (NJ), and solo exhibitions at the Springfield Museum of Art (OH) and Penn State Altoona (PA). Between 2011-2014, Boryana also served as the Vice President of Roy G Biv Gallery for Emerging Artists (OH) and was a founding member of the Couchfire Art Collective. She has been an Artist in Residence at the Headlands Center for the Arts (CA) in 2022, the Wassaic Project (NY) in 2023, and Interlude Artist Residency (forthcoming, 2025). Boryana comes to 麻豆破解版 College from teaching at Texas Tech University as an Assistant Professor in Painting.
