Next semester CEPP will meet in Library 442. CEPP will hold a retreat on January 15 at Deb Halls house from 9 am to 2 pm. The tentative agenda items include: 1) assessment 2) DOF overview of academic operating budget 3) future membership of CEPP and 4) CTL. The separation of the Art and Art History Department into two independent departments will be voted on at Fridays (December 7) faculty meeting. CEPP agreed that the proposal would be sent by email to conserve paper. One member of CEPP stated that some faculty asked for an update on the committees activities. Deb agreed to update the faculty at the February faculty meeting and for those that wanted to know sooner, she would send an email to encourage them visit the CEPP website to read the minutes. CEPP discussed the CAS policies on withdrawals, failures, transfers, and first-year student deferrals for Scribner Seminars (SSP). The discussion centered on whether Scribner Seminars were either an experience to offer to 1st semester students (they only have to take the course) or a degree requirement (they have to pass in order to graduate). If the SSP is not a degree requirement, how does it affect academic rigor? It was suggested that CEPP revisit the minutes from Spring 06 when this issue first arose (after some students did fail their SSP). There were also questions on how to define when transfer students were required to take a Scribner Seminar. CEPP would like to see data about the number of students who fail and the number of transfer students. Deb agreed to relay these questions to the FYD and the chair of CAS and to invite them to a CEPP meeting in February. Erica and Muriel updated CEPP on the Dec. 3 open forum for the Special Programs Study Group Report. An unofficial count revealed that the audience was all Special Programs personnel except for 2 faculty, the DOF, and the Registrar. The conversation included marketing of MALS and UWW, faculty appointments, and the integration of UWW and MALS with residential undergraduates. CEPP members were urged to attend the next open forum on December 6 if they were available. Furthermore, CEPP members were urged to compile portions of the report that intersect with CEPP to discuss at the next meeting. Deb, Muriel, Pat, Erica, and Kyle updated CEPP on the Dec. 4 meeting for a Center for Teaching and Learning held by the VPAA. Other members at the meeting included representation from FYE, IT, Library, Registrar, and FDC. Although preliminary, a Task Force will probably be selected with broad membership. The reporting structure and the membership have not been determined. CEPP can make a recommendation to the VPAA. h}h}CH* h:h}Ch}COJQJh}C-.56 gd}C&1h:p}C/ =!"#$%@@@ NormalCJ_HaJmH sH tH DA@D Default Paragraph FontRiR Table Normal4 l4a (k(No List z -.56 0ʀ00ʀ000000ʀ0000000000 8@0( B S ? ::`lXp,Au_q M,p)Jh^`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJ^Jo(hHohpp^p`OJQJo(hHh@ @ ^@ `OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJ^Jo(hHoh^`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJ^Jo(hHohPP^P`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJ^Jo(hHohpp^p`OJQJo(hHh@ @ ^@ `OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJ^Jo(hHoh^`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJ^Jo(hHohPP^P`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJ^Jo(hHohpp^p`OJQJo(hHh@ @ ^@ `OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJ^Jo(hHoh^`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJ^Jo(hHohPP^P`OJQJo(hH^`o(. ^`hH. pLp^p`LhH. @ @ ^@ `hH. ^`hH.
