Minutes of December 4 were modified and approved. Next semesters meetings will begin at 6 p.m. in Library 442. CEPP will hold a retreat on January 15 at Deb Halls house from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Committee will extend an invitation to VPAA Susan Kress to join us for discussions of assessment and the Center for Teaching and Learning. Members reported that the VPAAs meeting on the Center was productive. The VPAA will create a task force and is open to recommendations regarding its composition and to whom the task force will report. CEPP recommended that the task force ultimately report to the VPAA and that CEPP charge the task force, with its report first coming to this committee by the end of the spring semester. CEPP will recommend that the task force select its own chair. The Committee is concerned that relevant faculty constituencies be included in the task forces work. As such, CEPP feels that the task force should be composed of members from FDC, Curriculum Committee, CEPP, the Registrar, FYE, and the Library. A secondary group that should be consulted as the task force prepares its report should include Information Technology, the Dean of Studies, the Dean of the Faculty, and the VPAA. The Dean of the Faculty reported on budget-related matters. She noted that, while there are 334 instructional faculty on campus, there are only 174 tenure track lines. There are 125 full-time adjunct faculty members and 64 part-time adjuncts. Since the 2004-2005 academic year, the College has averaged 100 course releases per year, though that number is down to 85 this year. The Dean received requests for nine new tenure track lines for next year, and she expects to recommend that three of those lines be funded. Her operating budget last year was $1.6 million; she will request a $1.75 million budget for the next academic year. CEPP discussed how to respond to the Special Programs Task Force Report at length. The meeting was concluded at 6:30 p.m. Respectfully submitted by CONTACT _Con-410E96FB1 \l Rik Scarce. h>hP[mHnHujhP[UhP[./'(fgHI <=gdP[&1h:pP[/ =!"#$%@@@ NormalCJ_HaJmH sH tH DA@D Default Paragraph FontRiR Table Normal4 l4a (k(No List!z./'(fgHI<=0p`0p`0ʀ0p`0p`0p`0p`0p`0p`0p`0p`0p`0p`0p`00p`0ʀ0p`0p`0p`0p`./'(fgHI<=hI8ohI8ojI8ohI8ohI8ohI8ohI8ohI8ohI8ohI8ojI8ohI8ohI8ohI8ojI8ohI8ojI8ohI8ohI8ohI8ohI8o ^8@0( B S ?ci^a,3:`lXp,Au_q M,p)Jh^`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJ^Jo(hHohpp^p`OJQJo(hHh@ @ ^@ `OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJ^Jo(hHoh^`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJ^Jo(hHohPP^P`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJ^Jo(hHohpp^p`OJQJo(hHh@ @ ^@ `OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJ^Jo(hHoh^`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJ^Jo(hHohPP^P`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJ^Jo(hHohpp^p`OJQJo(hHh@ @ ^@ `OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJ^Jo(hHoh^`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJ^Jo(hHohPP^P`OJQJo(hH^`o(. ^`hH. pLp^p`LhH. @ @ ^@ `hH. ^`hH.
