Leo Parra ’24 works in Billie Tisch Center for Integrated Sciences.

Using resources from Â鶹ĆĆ˝â°ć's Billie Tisch Center for Integrated Sciences, chemistry major Leo Parra ’24 was asked to help try to solve two archaeological mysteries during his senior year at Â鶹ĆĆ˝â°ć.

Institutional Diversity presents Pride 2024 

‌Celebrate LGBTQIA+ Pride Month at Â鶹ĆĆ˝â°ć from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, in Porter Plaza. Come to see the Progress Pride Flag and stay for delicious mocktails provided by Bars without Boundaries, light snacks, music, pride swag, and great company.

‌‌Juneteenth celebration at the Tang ‌

‌All are invited to attend a Juneteenth celebration at the Tang Teaching Museum from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 22. The family-friendly event will feature freedom- and Juneteenth-themed arts and crafts, storytelling for children, vendors, food, and live performances, including Prodigal B (hip-hop dance), Adrian Emanuel (neo-soul), Nkoula Badila and Angel Lau (Congolese dance and drumming workshop), and the Heavenly Echoes Gospel Band (gospel).

Dining Services

Summer hours

‌During the summer months, the Spa will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A breakfast menu will be available from 8 to 11 a.m.; hot soup and a deli menu will be available from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Grab and go items will be sold in Burgess Café. More information about Dining Services' hours of operation is available on the Dining Services website. ‌ ‌

‌Pop-up grill

‌Dining Services is now offering a pop-up grill on Porter Plaza, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. The grill menu features hotdogs, burgers (both beef and plant-based), and grilled chicken sandwiches. A combo meal includes your choice of a grill item, two sides, and a beverage for $7.99. In the case of rain, the pop-up grill will be relocated to inside the Spa.

Drink 8 to Hydrate Challenge 

‌Tłó±đ Live More, Â鶹ĆĆ˝â°ć worksite wellness program is offering the six-week Drink 8 to Hydrate Challenge to all employees, June 17 through July 28, to help maintain adequate hydration during the hot summer months. The goal is to drink at least eight, 8-ounce glasses of water at least five days each week throughout the challenge.

‌Chair massages

‌Tłó±đ Live More, Â鶹ĆĆ˝â°ć worksite wellness program, in partnership with MVP Health Care, is offering free chair massages to Â鶹ĆĆ˝â°ć employees from noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 18. Anyone interested in signing up for a 10-minute session with one of two licensed massage therapists . Those who signed up for a session when massages were offered in April are asked to please refrain from signing up again, to allow others an opportunity.

Tennis court summer hours 

‌Tłó±đ tennis courts will have modified hours throughout the summer. The open recreation hours will be Monday through Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. and noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For more information, contact Peter Fisher

‌All employees are eligible to receive a 20% discount on ticket purchases to Freihofer’s Saratoga Jazz Festival (June 29-30), New York City Ballet (July 9-13), and Philadelphia Orchestra (July 31-Aug. 3) performances. ‌Copies of this summer's First Year Experience reader are available at the for purchase. “Between Two Kingdoms: A Memoir of a Life Interrupted” by Suleika Jaouad is a poignant memoir and a New York Times bestseller. ‌

‌Summer Bulletin publication schedule ‌

‌There will be no Bulletin next week (June 19). Bulletin will resume publication on June 26. Submit by completing the online form. The deadline for all submissions is noon on Monday, June 24. Over the summer, the Bulletin will be distributed to faculty and staff only. Submissions to the Faculty-Staff Achievements section are not accepted over the summer.
