‌‌New York State Summer Writers Institute 

‌‌‌Panel on the November election

‌Â鶹ĆĆ˝â°ć College will be offering a robust series of educational programming this fall that highlights the importance of civic participation. Kicking off the programming, the New York State Summer Writers Institute, which is hosted by Â鶹ĆĆ˝â°ć, will hold a panel on the November election featuring poet Tom Healy, Professor of History Jennifer Delton, and Joseph C. Palamountain Jr. Chair in Government Beau Breslin at 8 p.m., Friday, July 19, in Gannett Auditorium. Professor of English and New York State Summer Writers Institute Director Robert Boyers is an organizer of the event, which is free and open to the public.

Residential Life early arrival requests 

‌Departments sponsoring students (athletes, peer mentors, student workers, and others) for early arrival housing for the fall term should send requests to Residential Life by Aug. 7. Please include a list of sponsored students with student ID and anticipated arrival date. Students requesting an early arrival must have a fall 2024 on-campus housing assignment.

‌Intergroup Relations workshop 

‌Intergroup Relations (IGR), a program that discusses approaches to dialogue within a divisive political climate and a social justice context, invites faculty and staff to participate in a Zoom workshop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Aug. 26 and 27, with longtime practitioners from the University of Michigan, Monita Thompson and Charles Behling. ‌Â鶹ĆĆ˝â°ć employee discount at SPAC ‌ ‌As part of Â鶹ĆĆ˝â°ć’s partnership with Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC), all employees are eligible to receive a 20% discount on ticket purchases to Philadelphia Orchestra (July 31-Aug. 3) performances. ‌Dining Services summer hours ‌ ‌

‌Tłó±đ Spa is open daily from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A breakfast menu is available from 8 to 11 a.m.; hot soup and a deli menu are available from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Grab-and-go items are sold in Burgess CafĂ©. ‌Pop-up grill ‌ ‌

‌Dining Services offers a pop-up grill on Porter Plaza, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. The grill menu features hotdogs, burgers (both beef and plant-based), and grilled chicken sandwiches. A combo meal includes your choice of a grill item, two sides, and a beverage for $7.99. In the case of rain, the pop-up grill will be relocated to inside The Spa. ‌‌

‌Summer Bulletin publication schedule 

‌Through Aug. 21, the Bulletin will be distributed to faculty and staff only. Submit announcements and events by completing the online form. The deadline for all submissions is noon on Monday.
