Course Description

Good: The Study and Practice of Human Cooperation

A multidisciplinary exploration of human cooperation with a focus on the economics of prosocial behavior. What does it mean to be 鈥済ood鈥? Do intentions matter? Is cooperation always a good thing? How can we motivate others to do good in the world?  Through lectures, class activities, discussion, experiments, random acts of kindness, service to others, and self-reflection, we will study and practice human cooperation. Students will employ research questions, methodologies, and findings from economics, psychology, neuroscience, sociology, anthropology, evolutionary biology, and political science in our examination of human cooperation.
