Course Description

Latinx Identities: Sport and Culture

This course will explore the experience of Latinx populations in the U. S. through the topics of sport and culture. Latinx identities represent a geographically and ethnically diverse part of the world, comprised of some similar and contrasting nations and cultural regions throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. The course uses an interdisciplinary approach to explore the general history and culture of Latin America and the Latinx communities in the U. S., the impact Latinx communities in the U. S. have had on sporting culture, and the history of sports in the Americas.
