A holistic approach to student health and wellness
Â鶹Æƽâ°æ’s mission is the education and cultivation of our students, giving them transformative learning experiences and preparing them to lead lives of consequence. To achieve this, we must also address the holistic health and wellness of our community. The McCaffery-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center was conceived as a critical step toward this vision.
Bigger than a building, more than master plans and blueprints, beyond the benefits of having athletics and wellness resources in one location — this is a critical moment in Â鶹Æƽâ°æ's history to grow with intention, illustrate our dedication to inclusion, diversity, and equity, and support the comprehensive development of every single student.
When our vision for this project is realized, it will:
- Bring physical and mental health resources together for a forward-thinking experience.
- Open doors for everyone to pursue athletics and fitness.
- Create a welcoming place for all who share a desire to enhance their health and wellness.
The Emerson Challenge
Join us in raising $22 million to build:
A Multi-Service Health and Wellness center
Affirming mental and physical health.
Health Services, the Department of Health Promotion, the Counseling Center, and other wellness services and resources will relocate to one integrated, meaningful, and health-focused space.
A STATE-OF-THE-ART fitness center
Providing equipment and spaces for all.
A 10,000-square-foot cardio and weight room will be open to all students, faculty, and staff, with adjacent spaces for wellness classes including yoga, martial arts, and spin. Additional multipurpose gathering areas will be available to support student activities.
A Game-changing Tennis Facility
Supporting peak performance.
Eight new lighted outdoor tennis courts and four new indoor courts will bring our championship-winning tennis teams back on campus to train and compete where they belong. The facility will also include new locker rooms and a team meeting room for student-athletes and others to share.
