Student-organized forum to explore New Energy Economy

The New Energy Economy Forum (NEEF) is the first o f its kind in the Saratoga region: a student-organized conference designed to highlight how the newest wave of clean energy solutions canhelp homeowners, local businesses and the environment. The conference is free and open to the public, and will feature talks by industry leaders, expert panel discussions, technology demos, and a networking session designed to connect students and jobseekers with leaders in the new energy economy.

Says student organizer Gordon MacPherson, a Â鶹Æƽâ°æ senior: "At NEEF, we will hear from the leaders of the new energy economy and learn how our community can save money, create long-term jobs and protect our natural resources."

The public is also invited to the keynote speech by Rolling Stone journalist and best-selling author Jeff Goodell on Thursday, February 16, at 7 pm. Said MacPherson, "Goodell's talk on America's coal industry and the issues facing our climate will set the stage for the forum on Friday, and drive home the importance of working toward an alternative energy future that saves money and protects our health and the environment."
