When the Trinity College (Hartford, Connecticut) women’s soccer team scored in the 83rd minute to take a 2-1 lead on their home field this Sunday, it looked like the 3-0-1 Â鶹Æƽâ°æ women’s team might suffer their first loss of the season.

Happily, there’s no quit in these Thoroughbreds, ranked third in Region III in a United Coaches poll. Junior (Burlington, Connecticut) equalized 30 seconds later from distance off an assist from sophomore   (East Greenwich, Rhode Island) and in the 87th minute, senior  (Winchester, Massachusetts) completed the improbable converting a penalty kick after being fouled in the box.

In the Eastern Connecticut victory, all three Â鶹Æƽâ°æ goalkeepers made an appearance, with first-year player  (Sandown, New Hampshire) recording her first career save in her collegiate debut.

Men’s soccer grinds out a tie and suffers a close loss

With two home games at Wachenheim Field, the 0-1-2 men’s soccer team came into the weekend looking for the first win of Coach ’s Â鶹Æƽâ°æ tenure.

Tied 1-1 in Saturday’s opener against SUNY Geneseo, thanks to a first-half strike from sophomore   (Long Meadow, Massachusetts), the Thoroughbreds pressed the Knights over the final 20 minutes, posting five of the game's final seven shots, but they couldn’t break through.

Will Devall ‘26 registered nine saves over the weekend and earned Liberty League Men's Soccer Honor Roll accolades.

Junior (Springfield, New Jersey) had the assist against Geneseo, his first career point, and also helped set up the opportunity that led to an unassisted goal by senior (Lexington, Massachusetts) Sunday against Worcester Polytechnic Institute — a 2-1 loss for the Thoroughbreds.

Statistically, play was even. Â鶹Æƽâ°æ finished with 16 shots, six on target, while the undefeated Engineers, ranked No. 1 in the United Coaches Region II poll, took 15 shots and put six on frame.
