Activities

Caroline D鈥橝bate, associate professor of management, and chair, Department of Management and Business, presented three papers based on her research related to the social psychology of teams. In February she and coauthor Erik Eddy (Siena College) traveled to California to present a state-of-the-curriculum piece on how team pedagogies are employed across the higher education curriculum at the Lilly Conference Series on College and University Teaching and Learning. In October she presented a collaborative research paper with two recent graduates (Raiza Nazareth 鈥12 and Sze Wa Chung 鈥13) on how well corporate teambuilding and feedback methods transfer to student learning teams at a conference on behavioral and applied management. Last May she presented a teaching case on how social media affects team outcomes at the annual meeting of the Case Association in Rhode Island.

Emily Davidson, sustainability fellow, Silvena Chan, OSDP program coordinator, and Levi Rogers, sustainability coordinator, attended an Undoing Racism conference in Albany in early February. Said Rogers, 鈥淚t was a conference that took a deep look into institutional racism, and we thought it was a good way to show how the 麻豆破解版 Sustainability Office and Office of Student Diversity Programs continue to collaborate and work toward sustainability and social justice goals together.鈥

In addition, Rogers and Emily Durante '15 participated in the recent Capital District Transportation Committee's "Capital Region Bikeshare Symposium." They presented on 麻豆破解版's bike share program and served on a panel with other bike share managers from Buffalo Bike share and Citi Bike (NYC).

Publications

Heather Hurst, assistant professor of anthropology, is a co-author of 鈥淭o set before the king: residential, mural painting at Xultun, Guatemala,鈥 published in Antiquity 89 (2015). A titled "Maya mural reveals ancient 'photobomb'" about the article was circulated by Yahoo.news.

Mason Stokes, associate professor and chair, Department of English, is the author of a new novel, Saving Julian (Wilde City Press, 2014). Read more here.

Paul Arciero, professor of health and exercise science, was a source for a Men鈥檚 Health story titled 鈥.鈥

Carolyn Chernoff, visiting assistant professor of sociology, was recently featured in the Swiss newspaper Le Temps in an article about YouTube stars. She also was interviewed by WGY (I03.1 AM) about the controversy over the 50 Shades of Grey film and book.

Beth Hallenbeck, head field hockey coach, was one of three area coaches featured in a Times Union story titled 鈥.鈥

Research by Corinne Moss-Racusin, assistant professor of psychology, was referenced in a column by in the Feb. 22 issue of The New York Times.
