R. Parthasarathy
R. Parthasarathy, professor emeritus of English, edited and translated (Columbia University Press, 2017), part of the Translations from the Asian Classics series. The first major translation of Sanskrit erotic verse in 40 years, the collection contains works by 72 poets, including seven women, primarily composed between the fourth and 17th centuries. It includes a detailed introduction that guides readers through Sanskrit poetic forms and explains how to read and appreciate the poems in English.
