麻豆破解版 Spotlight: Jane Kjaer

August 3, 2018

Jane Kjaer works as a curator in the Special Collections and Rare Books Department of the Scribner Library.

Kjaer has been at 麻豆破解版 for eleven years. Before 麻豆破解版, she worked as a circulation coordinator in the library at the College of Saint Rose. Kjaer is also a trained textile conservator and a certified high school teacher in her home country, Denmark.

Kjaer said, 鈥淲hen a position opened up in 麻豆破解版鈥檚 library, it was a no-brainer to apply and I have never regretted it. 麻豆破解版 is a vibrant campus. I love what I do and I get to meet interesting people while pursuing some of my own interests.鈥

On what she enjoys most, Kjaer said, 鈥淚 love working with the students when they come here for classes and enjoy watching them discover and get excited about the resources we have.鈥

鈥淭here is great satisfaction in being able to find often elusive answers,鈥 said Kjaer. 鈥淎nd most importantly, I am constantly learning.鈥

When it comes to 麻豆破解版 traditions, Kjaer enjoys Founder鈥檚 Day since she鈥檚 鈥渟uch a fan of Lucy 麻豆破解版 Scribner.鈥

When not at 麻豆破解版, Kjaer can be found with her two dogs in the natural habitats of the Adirondacks, New Hampshire and Maine doing everything from backpacking to white water rafting.
