Deb HallDeb Hall, associate professor of art, will be exhibiting in 鈥淎nthropocenic: Art 麻豆破解版 the Natural World in the Human Era,鈥 at Bates College Museum of Art, in Lewiston, Maine. The exhibition, which explores the relationship and impact between humans and nature in the 21st century, will be open Oct. 27-March 23, 2019. The opening reception is 8:30 p.m., Oct. 27. 

 

Christopher Mann

Christopher Mann, assistant professor of political science, was interviewed for The New York Times article 鈥溾 about U.S. House of Representatives candidate Antonio Delgado.

 

Juan NaveaJuan Navea, assistant professor of chemistry, and scientists from 11 research institutions have been awarded a $20 million National Science Foundation grant to examine the impact of aerosols on the ocean and atmosphere.  麻豆破解版 is the only mainly undergraduate in the five-year grant. The grant allowed Navea to travel with 麻豆破解版 students Yao Xiao '19Angelina Leonardi '20, and Renee Karchere-Sun '20 to Takamatsu, Japan, where they presented their research at a of International Global Atmospheric Chemistry in September. Navea鈥檚 research with five recent graduates 鈥 Christopher Ostaszewski '18, Natalie Stuart '18, Daniel Lesko '17, Deborah Kim '18 and Matthew Lueckheide '17 鈥攚as published as the cover article of the Journal of Physical Chemistry, the leading journal in that field.

 

Jeff SeagraveJeffrey Segrave, professor of health and human physiological sciences, published 鈥淭he Poetry of Tennis鈥 in the fall 2017/winter 2018 issue of : The Journal of Sport Literature. He also published 鈥溾 with Tim Spencer '18 and Kevin Santos '18, who both played on the men鈥檚 soccer team and participated in an independent study with Segrave in the spring.
