Cerri BanksCerri Banks, dean of students and vice president for student affairs, will deliver the 2019 convocation address at Syracuse University鈥檚 School of Education convocation ceremony on May 11. Banks is an alumna of the school.

Yelena BibermanYelena Biberman, assistant professor of political science, co-authored a policy opinion piece with political science major Jared Schwartz. The article, 鈥淧akistan is Ready for Stability in Afghanistan,鈥 was published by , based out of Australian National University.

Gail Cummings DansonGail Cummings-Danson, athletics director, was featured in a Spectrum News segment about changing the conversation about women鈥檚 sports. She spoke about seeing a positive shift in the amount of respect and attention women鈥檚 sports receive.  

Chris MannChristopher Mann, assistant professor of political science, co-authored an article using data from his Election Research class. The article, 鈥淲aiting to Vote in the 2016 Presidential Election: Evidence from a Multi-county Study,鈥 appears in and was the result of a multi-campus project observing polling places in 2016.

Daniel NathanDaniel Nathan, professor of American studies, was quoted in an article about the 100th anniversary of the Black Sox gambling scandal. The article, 鈥淭he Greatest Gambling Scandal in American History Turns 100,鈥 appeared on GamblingCompliance.com. 

Jeff SegraveJeffrey Segrave, David H. Porter professor of health and human physiological sciences, published an article entitled 鈥淭he Literature of Tennis鈥 in Routledge Handbook of Tennis: History, Culture and Politics (286-295). 


Update:

Heather HurstHeather Hurst, associate professor of anthropology, appeared in the channel series 鈥淟ost Treasures of the Maya鈥 in episode three, 鈥淪ecrets of the Sun God,鈥 which originally aired March 18. Her work at the Maya site of San Bartolo was featured.
