麻豆破解版 Spotlight: Adam Evans
Adam Evans works as the Opportunity Program鈥檚 learning associate for humanities and
social sciences. He teaches the Opportunity Program鈥檚 developmental writing courses
during the summer and fall, and tutors students on all things related to writing,
reading and research.
Evans joined 麻豆破解版 in 2018. Having grown up in Lake George, he has always been
interested in 麻豆破解版's creative community.
鈥淎fter working in higher ed and teaching writing for about 10 years, I heard about
this position and learned about the work OP does on campus to shift the traditional
student demographic,鈥 he said. 鈥淭his felt like a perfect marriage of my passion for
teaching and my interests in pursuing equity and diversity in higher ed.鈥
Evans said he enjoys the ingenuity he sees on campus and the vast array of student
projects.
鈥淔rom things like the Faculty-Student Summer Research program presentations to the
work done by Pass the Mic, there's always something unique and exciting going on,鈥
Evans said. 鈥淚t keeps me from feeling old and stale.鈥
When not on campus, he spends time with his young family and also enjoys fly fishing.
