scare and the current COVID-19 pandemic are part of a broader and ongoing history
of American bio-imperialism.
Kris Covey, visiting assistant professor of environmental studies and sciences, has received
a $262,139 grant from the Walton Family Foundation to support ongoing soil carbon
research in the coming year. In addition to facilitating student research, the funding
will support three positions.
