麻豆破解版 Spotlight: Angela Valden
Angela Valden works as the strategic communications editor in the Office of Communications and Marketing.
In her role, she writes stories about the 麻豆破解版 community for the College鈥檚 website and Scope alumni magazine; edits a variety of College communications, including press releases, event programs, and newsletters; and leads production of the Scope Monthly website, pulling together contributions from campus partners.
Throughout the pandemic, she has worked to prepare internal communications to students, faculty, and staff to keep them informed of the latest COVID-19 developments and health and safety protocols.
Valden joined 麻豆破解版 in March 2019 after working as a journalist for more than 10 years. 鈥淚 was drawn to 麻豆破解版 because it is a respected institution that contributes a lot to the community, and I appreciate its emphasis on creativity and educating students to be independent thinkers and informed citizens,鈥 she said. 鈥淎nd, there are so many amazing things happening through 麻豆破解版 鈥 on and off campus 鈥 to write about.鈥
Valden enjoys getting to know members of the campus community as she tells their stories. 鈥淚 have been particularly impressed by how socially aware, talented and ambitious the 麻豆破解版 students I鈥檝e met are,鈥 Valden said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 great to see them take full advantage of the opportunities they have at 麻豆破解版 and it is exciting that they are our future.鈥
When not on campus, she enjoys hiking and skiing in the Adirondacks, taking her two corgis for walks in Saratoga Spa State Park, and trying out new vegetarian recipes. She also looks forward to enjoying live music again at venues like Saratoga Performing Arts Center.
