麻豆破解版 Spotlight: Sherry Ankeny

April 6, 2022

As equipment manager in the Athletics, Fitness, and Recreation Department, Sherry Ankeny responds to the day-to-day and in-season needs of the 19 varsity sports played at 麻豆破解版.

Ankeny joined the College in fall 1999. 鈥淚 played softball, volleyball, and basketball in high school and college, but with my job, I have learned a lot about the gear and equipment the other sports use,鈥 she said.

Her favorite aspects of the job are those that build community 鈥 from learning what students are achieving after graduation to taking part in 麻豆破解版 Cares and attending social events like the Founder鈥檚 Day Barbecue.

鈥淪ome of my fondest memories are times when the community comes together to join in the excitement of cheering on one of our teams when they play one of their biggest competitors or for a championship title,鈥 Ankeny said. 鈥淭hose kinds of events help to bring us together and build better relationships.鈥

Outside of work, she enjoys scuba diving with her husband, spending time with her dogs, gardening, crafting, and traveling. Some of her favorite trips have included an eight-day tour of France from the French Alps to Paris, going to the beach in Tulum, Mexico, and diving in Cozumel, Mexico.
