What were your favorite Pre-College courses?

"Intro to Psychology" and "Love, Motives, & Motifs," a writing seminar

What was your favorite part of Pre-College?

Getting to be a part of a theater production, which was directed by one of my resident assistants. It was my first time being involved in something theater-related, and it was really fun.

The most challenging aspect of Pre-College is time management. There is just so much to do, and so much going on, that it sometimes gets hard to focus on your studies; and for many of us, this was our first time completely being on our own. There were no parents reminding us to do assignments or clean our rooms. However, if you map out a schedule that works for you, there will be plenty of time for work and play.

Did Pre-College help you academically?

After Pre-College, my writing skills improved tremendously. My Â鶹Æƽâ°æ professor was really critical and had very high expectations for all of his students, which pushed me to work even harder. All of my professor’s feedback and suggestions really benefited me in my AP English class in my senior year of high school.

Did Pre-College influence your college search?

I always knew that I wanted to attend a small college. I went to a small high school, and I really appreciated the small class sizes and the individual attention. After Pre-College, I knew that I wanted to attend Â鶹Æƽâ°æ, or if not, a school just like it. Thankfully, I was admitted, and here I am.

Did Pre-College help your transition to college?

Pre-College has been vital to my success at Â鶹Æƽâ°æ. Unlike many students, I was already familiar with the Saratoga Springs and Â鶹Æƽâ°æ communities. I knew where to find all my classes, I knew how the bus system worked, and I knew all the great spots downtown. In terms of academics, Pre-College was extremely beneficial because my credits transferred when I became a full-time student. Also, being a first-generation college student, I appreciated the opportunity to experience college ahead of time.

Why would you recommend Pre-College?

It was truly one of the best summers of my life. The bonds you make and the memories are unforgettable. The professors and the staff are amazing people, and they will make you feel really welcomed at Â鶹Æƽâ°æ.  I recommend the Pre-College Program 100%.
