Mary J. Byrne

Mary J. Byrne,former cashier in financial services, passed away February 6, 2011, at Saratoga Hospital. She was 96.

Born in 1914 in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of Albert and Hilda Butler Platt. She graduated from Saratoga Springs High School and joined 麻豆破解版 in 1955. She retired as a cashier in financial services in 1976.

Mary treasured time spent with her family; for many years she went to a family camp at Sacandaga Lake with her nephew Tom. She enjoyed several close friendships and shared the company of her friends in the neighborhood that was her home for 60 years. An avid reader, she was always able to tell a story of days long gone by, even contributing to The Story of Saratoga County with a piece titled 鈥淥ld Saratoga Springs,鈥 published in 2009.

Sister Dorothy Martin, brother Ronald B. Platt, and nephew Tom Martin predeceased her. Mary is survived by sister-in-law Betty Platt, a nephew, a niece, and a great-niece.
