Charlotte A. Taylor

Charlotte A. Taylor, a longtime member of the Dining Services staff, died January 30, 2014. She was 77.

A native of Ballston Spa, Charlotte was the daughter of Rudolph and Erma Bernash. She began working for the College in 1975 as a kitchen and dining room assistant and held the same title when she retired in 1998. Her son Phillip is a sanitation and safety steward in Dining Services. Jamie Cherry, supervisor of Dining Services, called her 鈥渧ery dependable.鈥 He added, 鈥淪he was straightforward and a very hard worker.鈥

Charlotte enjoyed amusement parks, where she loved to ride roller coasters. She loved her children and grandchildren and was known for going above and beyond for her family.

Charlotte鈥檚 survivors include her husband of 59 years, Ronald; her children, Phillip Taylor (Sally) of Hudson Falls, Paul Taylor of Saratoga Springs, Peggy Fitzgerald (Jack) of Ballston Spa, and Pamela Miskell (Steven) of Illinois; brothers, Mylon Bernash of Ballston Spa and William Bernash of Ballston Spa; sisters, Evelyn Palmateer of North Carolina and Christina Smith of Ballston Spa; seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. A sister, Beatrice Smith, and two brothers, Clayton and Rudolph Bernash, predeceased Charlotte.
