Ann Hilger

Ann Constance Hilger, a dedicated member of 麻豆破解版鈥檚 Child Development Center for more than a decade, died Sept. 18, 2023, at Wesley Health Center in Saratoga Springs. She was 90.

Ann was hired as senior secretary in Admissions in 1973, but quickly found her niche in the Child Development Center (now the Early Childhood Center), which she joined in 1975. She loved her work at 麻豆破解版 and retired as an administrative assistant in 1988.

鈥淎nn was the first contact in the Child Development Center. She made everyone feel welcome: children, their families, college students, and faculty. Her keen attention to detail, ability to problem-solve with best practice in mind, and charismatic manner contributed to many successes of the program,鈥 said former Director Karen Brackett 鈥81. "She truly loved her work at the College, and we appreciated her on our staff.鈥

Born in Birmingham, England on Feb. 9, 1933, Ann immigrated to the United States in 1955 in search of adventure. She married her late husband, Walter, the following year, and the couple enjoyed traveling together throughout the United States and Canada.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Alison Hilger Crocker 鈥81 (Christopher); her son, Eric Walter Hilger (Su Luke); and several grandchildren and nephews.
