Juror: Painter, Mark Wethli
Wethli will give a Slide Lecture of his work Tuesday evening, January 27th at 6pm
in Davis Auditorium, Palamountain Hall.
Guest juror Mark Wethli selected 86 works from 168 pieces submitted for display in
this exhibition. Â鶹Æƽâ°æ students created all the paintings, drawings, sculpture,
metals, ceramics, textiles, prints, photographs, communication design, and mixed media
on exhibit in 2003 and 2004.
93 students entered works; 66 are represented in the show. The juror also awarded
a number of prizes, funded by a variety of campus organizations and community businesses.

Mark Wethli is a painter and professor of art at Bowdoin College, where he is also
Director of the Visual Arts Program. A graduate of the University of Miami (MFA, 1973),
his paintings have been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the country,
with frequent solo exhibitions in New York and Los Angeles. His work is included in
the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Portland Museum of Art, and
the DeCordova Museum of Art, among many others, as well as numerous private collections.
He has received artist's fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and
the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, as well as artist's residencies at the MacDowell Colony,
the Millay Colony, and the Rockefeller Foundation in Bellagio, Italy.
