Creating New Folder for Uploads - OU v10

Create a new section when you want a new folder to house a new kind of uploaded file - movies, sound files, etc. This folder will have no pages and no navigation structure.

If you want to create a subsite with pages an a navigation structure, you should create a new subsite.

Always start by logging in to your site.

• To create a new item click on the Content tab, and then the Pages menu item.

• Then, navigate to the place on your site where you would like to create your new item.

• Next click on the drop down next to the New button, in the top left of the screen, and choose the Folder option.

• In the next popup, you will fill in the new folder name. As described in the popup, this name should have no capitals, spaces, or punctuation. It should be as short as possible. If you must have word separation, use a dash.

• When you have filled in all of your properties, click Create.
• This will create the folder, which will be available in the navigation of your site.
