Milton Gramajo '27 - PAC CaptainMilton

Â鶹Æƽâ°æ Me: I’m a sophomore majoring in Political Science and Economics. Most of my academic interests rely on American Government and Latin American immigration. I like to spend my free time reading, playing soccer, listening to music, and hanging out with my friends.

Why PAC?: I feel that PAC is vital to the Â鶹Æƽâ°æ community. It provides an additional and flexible resource that is often more comfortable for students. In my personal experience, PAC was extremely helpful in my first year, working alongside other students who fully understand the perspective of students seeking help enhances academic connection and learning.

Favorite class and why?: My favorite class has been WLS 211 (Spanish Literature and Culture) with Professor Burton. Every book and piece of material covered in this class was fascinating, and the professor's way of relating the subjects to philosophical ideas is brilliant. Overall, great course and great professor. Definitely recommended!

Academic Advice: Take advantage of the resources and opportunities that Â鶹Æƽâ°æ offers, and try to manage your time in the most effective way to get things done on time!

Â鶹Æƽâ°æ Me: I am a senior majoring in Psychology and Spanish with a minor in the Honors Forum. I am the wellness section editor for the club Her Campus, I was a Scoop leader the past three years, and I am involved in the dance community at Â鶹Æƽâ°æ. I love to crochet, hike, read, and ski in my free time!

Why PAC?: I wanted to join PAC so I could help foster a supportive and encouraging academic environment for fellow Spanish students and use the skills I have developed over time to help others. I remember how much my Spanish tutors or peers helped me when I first started learning Spanish, so I am excited to be one of the new Spanish peer academic coaches and help make a difference in someone else’s learning!

Favorite Class and Why: One of my favorite classes I have taken at Â鶹Æƽâ°æ was Educational Psychology. This class was about empirically based psychological research on the most effective ways of teaching. In line with the goals of the course, my professor made this class super engaging and interesting, providing us with practical skills and tools about teaching that I can apply across many areas of life, including my role as a PAC tutor.

Academic Advice: My best academic advice is to stay organized and keep track of your assignments. I always make sure to put important assignments or tests in my calendar so I can plan ahead and see what a given week will look like. This way I am prepared to do my best work and make sure everything gets done on time. My work feels most manageable when I know what I have to do and I have a daily checklist to keep me on task.

Â鶹Æƽâ°æ Me: I am a sophomore Political Science and Spanish major from Connecticut! I am also a programmer at WSPN, Â鶹Æƽâ°æ’s college radio station, and play ultimate frisbee. I love reading, listening to music, and working out/being active.

Why PAC?: Learning a language is very hard, and having PAC as an extra resource is super helpful. Also, asking for help from professors can be intimidating, so PAC is a great option for a more casual, low-pressure space to ask questions and get help at any level.

Favorite class and why?: My favorite class was Middle Eastern Politics with Professor Ocakli. I came into the class with pretty much no knowledge of politics in the Middle East, and I learned so much in just one semester. It definitely changed the way I view politics and international affairs in the region, and in general.

Academic advice: Have things outside of classes that you enjoy doing. This helps keep you balanced and helps you avoid putting too much pressure on yourself academically. If you have other things you devote time and effort into, a bad grade will not feel like the end of the world!

Â鶹Æƽâ°æ Me: I’m a sophomore majoring in Political Science and potentially a minor in Business. I enjoy traveling, swimming, being outdoors, and spending time with friends.

Why PAC?: Learning how to listen and connect with others is incredibly important. Tackling a new subject—especially a new language—is no easy feat. It’s crucial to ensure that new learners feel seen, heard, and valued throughout this challenging process. Every issue, no matter how small it may seem, deserves validation. Even if a problem seems minor or unimportant, it can still be tough for the person sitting next to you. That’s why I strive to maintain an open mindset and provide consistent support. Everyone struggles with something, and being a supportive presence in PAC can make all the difference. My goal is to be present and to foster a welcoming space where you feel empowered to grow and explore the beautiful diversity of Hispanic culture and language.

Favorite Class and Why: My favorite class that I have ever taken at Â鶹Æƽâ°æ is Intro to Political Philosophy by Professor Natalie Taylor. It was interesting to explore different philosophical works and how they shape our understanding of the world.

Academic Advice: Don’t underestimate the value of small study or work groups. Tackling a difficult problem alone can feel overwhelming, but collaborating with others opens up opportunities to share and question ideas, ask follow-ups, and explore different perspectives. This exchange not only deepens understanding of the subject but also introduces new insights on the subject that might have easily been missed if you were working alone. By learning from each other, everyone grows and gains a better outlook on the issue.

Major: English  Minor: Spanish

Â鶹Æƽâ°æ me: I'm from Brooklyn, New York. I love to make and listen to all kinds of music; I love baseball; and I enjoy reading and writing poetry. If I had all the money in the world, I would use it to travel.

Why PAC?: In the future, I could find myself as a teacher or professor, and working at PAC is a great way to sharpen some skills I might need in the future. I also think if you're passionate about a subject, as I am about Spanish, it only makes sense to try and share it with others

Favorite Class: Spanish 212, and Poetry workshops with Peg Boyers and April Bernard.

Academic Advice: Find what you enjoy in a subject and do your best to forge relationships with your professors. It makes it much easier to succeed in your classes if you can enjoy them.
