Conditions for Studying Off Campus on a Travel Seminar

Studying off campus is a privilege that is available to students who have demonstrated the ability to adjust academically and socially to college, and who are ready to benefit from the challenges of off-campus study. Only students in good academic, financial, and social standing are eligible to study off campus. The Office of Off-Campus Study & Exchanges (OCSE) reserves the right to withdraw students from their respective programs if they do not meet these conditions.

Students studying off campus on a travel seminar are expected to adhere to the same social and academic policies in place at Â鶹Æƽâ°æ College. Students are responsible for understanding Â鶹Æƽâ°æ College’s Honor Code, Code of Conduct, and social and academic policies.

Â鶹Æƽâ°æ College’s Honor Code and Code of Conduct.

Stipulations for studying off-campus:

  • Students with current or past social infractions may be ineligible to study off campus.
  • Students must complete and submit the mandated OCSE documentation and the requisite deposit.
  • Students must comply with all rules, standards and instructions relating to student behavior which are promulgated by Â鶹Æƽâ°æ.
  • Â鶹Æƽâ°æ, its employees and agents shall have the right to enforce appropriate standards of conduct.
  • Â鶹Æƽâ°æ may, at any time, terminate a student’s participation in an off-campus program in the event of any failure to abide by any such standard of conduct.  If a student’s participation in an off-campus program is terminated, the student must immediately leave the program at his/her own expense.

Participation Guidelines

  • Travel seminar participants agree to comply with all rules, standards and instructions relating to student behavior which are promulgated by Â鶹Æƽâ°æ or the host institution/provider.  Further it is agreed that when participating in group tours or other activities arranged by Â鶹Æƽâ°æ or a host institution/provider, students will accept the will of the majority whenever a matter of choice is presented to the group.  Failure of students to adhere to appropriate standards of conduct and/or program guidelines can lead to the immediate termination of a student’s participation in the program.  If participation in the program is terminated, students must immediately leave the program at their own expense.
  • Â鶹Æƽâ°æ and/or the provider reserves the right to make cancellations, substitutions or changes in the program when they consider such cancellations, substitutions or changes to be necessary.
