Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was born in Nigeria to an Igbo family and moved to the United States to complete her graduate education at Yale University and at the Johns Hopkins University. Her award-winning novels include 鈥淎mericanah鈥 (2013 National Book Critics Circle Award), 鈥淗alf a Yellow Sun鈥 (2007 Orange Prize) and 鈥淧urple Hibiscus鈥 (2003 Commonwealth Writers Prize). She is the recipient of many other awards, including a 2008 MacArthur Genius Grant. Her nonfiction works include 鈥淲e should all be feminists鈥 (2014) and a June 2021 essay, 鈥淚t Is Obscene,鈥 a critique of 鈥渃ancel culture.鈥 Contact Bob Boyers for more information.
