Buy or Develop?

Although IT is more than happy to create custom web applications when needed, users should first look at the availability of purchasing third-party applications. Third-party applications should be evaluated based on cost, features, reviews/recommendations and the availability of long-term support from the vendor. Only if a suitable product cannot be found will custom development be considered. Cost should not be the sole deciding factor to not purchase an application. Remember that there is a staffing/developer cost to the college for creating custom applications. If you have any questions about funding application purchases, please contact the director of IT.
